Come and meet Diane and Sheri at the 2nd annual Zero Waste Fair.

Join the journey to zero waste! On June 17th, ILACSD is hosting our second annual Zero Waste Fair at the Ocean Knoll Farm in Encinitas. During this free, family friendly event, attendees are welcome to stroll through a variety of educational booths and activity stations, where they will learn more about composting, renewable energy options, ocean-friendly gardens, recycling, a look at a local zero waste ambassador’s weekly trash production, and more. Activities include a repurposed craft station, making packaging-free toothpowder, and a Swap and Shop. Following an expert panel, attendees can win prizes in our zero waste raffle, including a rain barrel, reusable produce bags, and apparel from a local zero waste outfitter. Register today!

Diane Downey and Sheri Menelli specialize in earth-friendly landscaping practices, including vegetable gardening, rainwater capture, soil health, native plants, and efficient irrigation. Diane is a professional landscape designer with over 10 years’ experience, and Sheri is a certified permaculture designer with a six-year-old food forest in her backyard. Combined, they have over two decades of teaching experience. Their classes are taught to the public in the classroom, in the field, and via one-on-one garden coaching sessions.
